All right, here it is at last-- my fanmix for [info]thecactushead's NaNoWriMo, The City Lights Lovers. :D I worry that you'll think it's kinda lame, but I don't mind-- it was fun to make. XD Hope you enjoy!

I dunno why LJ makes the covers all blurry. D:

Here it is. :D

Sparkly explanations and stuff. : ) )

Plus, just to be nice, the file has translations for most of the non-English lyrics. ^___^

All righty! I also made bonus tracks with themes for FLT, and WoaS, and last year's NaNo, and those'll be up... later. XD For now, hope you enjoy! : )

Okay, first of all:

4,000 WORDS AWRIGHT. I'm done with the rough draft for Extended Essay. =DDDD Now, I just have to finish off some bio and English, and I'll be all done~

Next of all:

35,242  WORDS OH SHIT.

.... yeah, I failed JulNoWriMo.  : (

I really did try, but the last few days, it was getting to be so hectic and there was no way i could catch up and still stay up with reviews on YWS and my homework and all.

But still! I figure for a story with very little planning and basically no mental preparation, I did pretty well. It'll got much better when I do real NaNo, because then I'll be prepared for it, and besides, I'll see[info]thecactushead  everyday and she can give me a cactus beating if I give up. XD I now have a half-finished draft of TTwT that I can finish at my leisure, and that's always a good thing. (I suddenly noticed how the abrieviation for The Trouble With Titanium looks like a crying face. That's... not a good omen.)

The best thing about JulNo, though, was that it gave me a really good chance to enjoy writing again, after spending so long struggling with The Zeritthia Trilogy and feeling like I just wasn't good enough and being hugely envious of other people's writing and other ANGSTY things. I'm starting to rediscover a little of the joy in TZT now, starting to remember why I've spent so long writing it in the first place...

The thing is, deep down, I really do love TZT, even if I know I shouldn't. Well, I say I love it, and then I hate it, and then deep down I love it. It has three layers, and the third layer is the same as the first one. Like a pie. (Dr. Horrible reference ftw, y/y?) I think my love for TZT has a lot to do with Assembly, and the other way around. TZT is just... I suppose it's so much more idealistic. I mean, it's sort of an Earn Your Happy Ending Story and deep down all the protagonists are nakama and... I dunno. I suppose that sort of thing doesn't make for great literature, but I feel like TZT is just... it's more honest, more joyful, more... hell, I dunno. XD On the other hand, sometimes I feel like I'm trying to be a little too "hip" with Assembly, that it's all sort of tragedy for the sake of tragedy. It really is kind of a giant angstfest. XD

... spell check in firefox is so weird. Is angstfest really a word...?

Well, probably the real reason I like TZT so much is that it's got Sae and Attaraya and Kagami in it, but whatever. XD

Aaaand that's my incoherent rant for the day. XD

Oh! Chapter titles for The Trouble With Titanium (though the latter ones are subject to change, as only the bolded ones are completely written yet):

I. In Which a Zipper Sets the Plot in Motion

II. In Which Telephone Calls are Answered

III. In Which Foreshadowing is Dispensed

IV. Which Involves a Large Variety of Telephones

V. In Which the Plot Steps In

VI. In Which Our Heroine Tries on a Dress

VII. Which Involves a Goldfish and the Papers

VIII. During Which Hamburgers are Consumed

IX. In Which a Theory Develops

X. In Which Academic Status Is Called Into Question

XI. During Which we Return to Square One

XII. In Which a Clue is Discovered and Love Develops

XIII. In Which Said Clue is Acted Upon

XIV. Which is Altogether too Concerned with Pigeons

XV. In the Course of Which Someone is Ordered Several Times to Get Coffee and Comes Back With Nothing

XVI. In Which Our Heroine has Unprecedented Difficulty in Returning Home

XVII. Which Plays Host to a Dramatic Revelation

XVIII.  During Which Application of the Coursework is Clearly Demonstrated

XIX. Marie

XX. Which Contains a Quite Dramatic Battle

XXI. The Last Telephone Call

Earth, Mostly Harmless, Hitchiker's Guide

JulNoWriMo, Week 1 in Review.

Nevermind that I'm supposed to be packing. >_> <_<

12,931 words.

It's actually not gone terribly so far, though this bit is hard-- it's kind of a transition between the intro-y part of the story and the main story, and for some reason I find that intimidating? XD

The main thing I love about this story right now: The number of people with two word names/titles! XD Seriously, Titanium Maiden/Miss Fry, Radium Lass, Friesicus Icio, Dr. Terror, Undergrad Terror, CEO Fearworth, King Yo.... XD There's so many, and the extra word count fills me with joy. XD

Some choice typos and NaNoisms:

(Srsly, Firefox? NaNoisms is a word, but XD Isn't?)

"It would be a breach of me contract to tell you that.”

... one little typo, and suddenly Phoebe is the Lucky Charms Leprechaun.

"The inside of the Ciudad City Mac Daisy’s was pressed in tight with the lunch crows as well as the I Don’t Want to be Frozen to Death Today crowd."

Lunch crows. Like dinner crows, but lighter and cheaper.

"After a moment of blinking stupidly in yjr light"

Yeah. I managed to spell "the" as "yjr."

Not my NaNo ism, but apparently Word thinks the superlative of "low-rent" is "low-rentest"

Phoebe walked down the boulevard, keeping an eye out for some crows.

 ... Some lunch crows, perhaps?

and all the dust and debris and dents in nearby buildings had been made by Jicio

“Jicio”= New portmanteau couple name for Jennn and Icio? XD In all seriousness, I think that might kind of be my new OTP.

Words I am incapable of spelling #41: sandwich.

Beneath it was a lurid color photo of Jennn and Miss fry receiving yjr key to the city
I really do not understand how this became a frequently occurring spelling mistake.

Phoebe’s grip tightened on the phone beneathe her hand.
Because ye olde Englishe is coole!

twisting the white plastic bag against the black asphalt, so that it looked like a beached jellyfish gasping at her feet.

OMG WTF IS WRONG WITH ME/ Writing Prompt

*headdesk*

I give into the slightest peer pressure WAAAAY too easily.

I think I'm gonna try JulNoWriMo.

I repeat: AHHHHH WTF IS WRONG WITH ME.

Anyway.

I think I'll do my LoSLoR epilogue as a small part of it, because my goal in life right now is to finish that before my writing buddy gets back from NYC in 2 weeks. But other than that... it'll be The Trouble With Titanium all the way through.

... and I've realized I've never really talked about that story before on here.

TTWT is a novel of "self-discovery, heroics, and telephone answering." It's my first attempt at directly parody material, and I'm a little nervous of attempting it for fear that... well, I'll be boring. XD But I'm going to make the attempt. I suppose in a sense I'm doing it has a practice for NaNoWriMo, which is why I've chosen to do this much rougher novel over something like Assembly, on which I've been making plans for so long.

As for the reason I'm doing it... well, it's mostly because of [info]thecactushead . (So blame her first for having my writing forced on you. :D). I wasn't going to do JulNoWriMo, but now I am, because she's doing it. XD My main reason for deciding "no" was that I didn't want to be alone.

That said, any fellow writers want to join me? I'll need all the moral support I can get. ^_^

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Specifically, an old writing prompt

This one kind of fulfills three objectives:

Put on an album by one of your favorite bands and freewrite about your characters/character/random person/scenery/stuff.

and

Your character is outside for some reason. Why? What are they doing?

AND

Write a scene about your character's fears.

(BTW, the album I used for the first prompt is Shinshoku Dolce by Wakeshima Kanon. Though I'll admit that while writing part of it, I was listening to Hare Hare Yukai ~Kyon Version~. Which is, uhm... a little out of mood. XD)

Anyhoo, because I'm just weird, I decided to write this from the POV of a major antagonist, set perhaps a little bit (like, a day or so) before the story's beginning.

It's under the cut because... well. It's a liiiittle long.  )
<_< >_>... So yeah. That's that.

*off to get mentally prepared for what may be the dumbest decision ever*

For the night is dark and full of terrors. Also, Emma is hate. But you know this already.

HOMG A Storm of Swords. So. Much. Fantasy. Win. Okay, I've got to fangirl about this, even if I'm basically talking to myself. XD

Valar morghulis, and all. )
Anyway. I did finally get some editing done this week! Wow, Emma is... just, waaaay to socially competent. Also, she's kind of a total bitch and I want to punch her teeth out, but that's not much different from my normal feelings about Emma. I miss Sae and Attaraya soooo much already. Only a couple chapters away... AUGH.

I'm also working on some of those writing prompts for CWC, so I don't look like a total slacker. They're fun, actually-- I'm really starting to like Assembly. A lot. Well, the Collector is just fun, too.

Computer fox is kinda cute. XD

watchmen, dr. manhattan

Music, Serial Killers and GLUTEN. And many combinations of the two.

OMG so many awesome things right now. It's like my life was just like "OKAY TIEM TO BE AWSUM NAO" and I was just like "YAH OK."

Seriously. ^_^ So, I found out that the new Rie Fu album came out in April, not still waiting for September like I thought, because I fail hardcore at reading British dates. XD  And so now I'm faced with having to decide whether to listen to it now or wait for some unknown distant date in the future when I can actually order it. AAAHH 3200 yen. Freaking cost of import CDs. (Though CD Japan is actually really cheap. XD) So it's support awesome people and wait until Christmas or listen to awesome people on imeem and never actually have the CD. GAAH indecision.

Speaking of music OMG. It kinda looks like Do As Infinity might have been asked to compose the theme for a-nation 09. Which just. Wow. That's like, a really huge honor, afaik. I can't think of anyone else I know of having done it except Hamasaki Ayumi. So yeah. Fscking AWESOME. (Also, June 17. OMG. I listened to the preview for Umareyuku Monotachi e and it's AMAZING. <3 <3)

So, I got A Storm of Swords while we were out buying my summer reading books. LOL Jaime chapters. He's still kind of an ass, but his dialogue is hilarious. I feel kind of bad laughing at the lines of someone who, y'know, PUSHED A SEVEN-YEAR -OLD OFF A BUILDING, but oh well. I'm also really glad it looks like Brienne might be getting a bigger role in this one, because I love her to death. Jojen and Meena, too. <3 For some reason, I've got a bad feeling about what it looks like their survival rate is gonna be in this book... XD But then again. Everyone's chances of survival are awful. It's a GRRM book.

It's probably really weird how for such a grim, gritty fantasy, my main feeling is fangirling and wanting to draw parody fanart. XD

And I'm making my way through Monster, which is also incredible. Anna/Nina/whatever is love. ^_^. And Johann's like I'M TOO BISHIE FOR THIS SERIES SO NOW IMA START SERIAL KILLING PEOPLE and Tenma's like I'M TOO NICE AND KEEP BUYING PEOPLE STUFF AND THEN THEY DIE.  And Eva's like IMA BURN DOWN MY HOUSE FOR NO REASON and Lunge's like I'M WAY TOO DETERMINED AND I LOOK LIKE SAITOU FROM RUROUNI KENSHIN. ALSO I'M TYPING WITH MY MIIIIND. Yes, it is a show to be enjoyed in capslock. XD All joking aside, it's more mature and more tightly plotted than most anime I've seen, and it breaks my heart that there's no fandom for it. : ( Not enough bishies, I guess.

Oh! and I finished season 2 of House, and it was spectacular. <3 GLUTEN MAKES YOU KILL BABIES, GUYS.

So, I finally spent my GameSpot gift certificate.

I'm a little bummed out that they didn't have the game I was looking for, but all that gloom has been erased by...

POKEMON DIAMOND. : D

Adorable penguin is adorable.

Also, IB wtf. Group 4 and WLI and random!history project all ftl.

(but at least I finally finished Song of Solomon)

Still. Stop keeping me away from my adorable little penguin!

New. DAI. Song.

That is all.

Wait... no. That's not all. I've got squeeing to do.

OMG MERAMERA OMG. It's about time.

*melts into puddle of fangirl goo*

On the same vein, OMG Umareyuku monotachi e. MAY. I think I'm going to be counting down days. Like I said, it's about time. XD

I love you, DAI. You know I do. <3

Also, Utada's English album comes out in March. I've got my fingers crossed-- I really, really hope this is better than the first one. XD The single she released for it was good, at any rate... Utada's not usually my type of music, but her really good songs are just amzing no matter what the genre is. <3

Speaking of fangirling, OMG Watchmen. It was fantastic, and I was surprised- it was pretty accurate to the comic, only  a few major changes. I went to the midnight showing in IMAX- It was worth being up at 3 in the morning for, in any case.

Writing Prompt 1: Sae and Attaraya Playlist

For the CWC Writing prompt:

Well, originally I was going to make one for Emma, but that got kind of annoying and not fun pretty quick. XD I couldn’t really find anything for her, and it doesn’t help that I’m not patient with her… uhm… at all. XD My pet hated character. So instead, I decided to throw together a joint playlist for my rather better loved Attaraya D’Nar and Sae Noridsemi. : ) I could probably have actually followed the writing prompt and made them separate, but they’re really connected in my mind, their stories really wouldn’t have worked without each other, both on a plot level and on other levels. Also, I’m lazy.

(Sorry the fonts are psycho, apparently LJ and Word get along about as well as Sae and Attaraya do. XD)

So yeah, that wasn’t cheesy at all. XD At least I finally got the prompt done, guys. : )

Dang it.

SO CLOSE, GUYS.  >_<

I was tied with five people to break semis and I lost on speaker points. Dammit.

Could have been worse, though. One of the best speakers on our team was ranked 6th (out of 7) in a few rooms, against some really atrocious speakers, because he didn't have a tie and there was a pen in his pocket. Yes.

*sigh*... Well, there's always next month.

GOD I'M SO BUSY XD

...
I really wish it was summer right now. >_<

They changed the Group 4 topic. AFTER I got my hypothesis approved. I'm going to have to start all over.

Also Speech and Debate on Saturday *crai* I'm so unprepared... and our coach says this is the tournament everybody does well in WTF. Watch me break tradition and place 7th in every room. XD

ANYWAY. My birthday comes up soon~! Can't wait.

I totally gave up on winter anime because I don't have time to watch them and it all looked kinda generic anyway. But I'm still watching a couple ones from fall...

Skip Beat= best shoujo anime ever. I love Kyoko so much. Just... <3

Also. I hear IT HAPPENS in episode 16 of CLANNAD : ( My poor OTP...

I fail at writing things. Like, really. XD I haven't gotten even a bit further on typing, and I'm stuck in an Iarin chapter and ugh. Why do I think I can do NaNo again? XD

Well... those topics weren't linked in any way, shape, or form. XD Oh well.

WAI HELLO THAR

Hi!

I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda motivated to give LJ another try just 'cause tons of people on YWS have one. That's me, peer pressure sap since 1992!

Anyway, I'm zankoku-na-tenshi on DA and YWS, and part of the reason it took me so long to get a name on here is how hard it is for me to think of a snappy username. XD FAIL.

So yeah, this is mostly a venue for me to talk about all the dorky stuff I want to talk about but never get the chance to, whine about how poorly my novel's going, maybe post some sketches and stuff... I dunno. I guess I'll find my niche as I go along, eh?

Hopefully I'll work up the discipline to post on a semi-regular basis, if not... eh. I'm an IB student, and they're kinda packing a lot of work onto us, but I do my best.

Sooo... well, nice to meet you all, see you soon!
